The Project is for construction of a new Annex Block, and refurbishment of the existing Red House at Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) Headquarters in Tsim Sha Tsui to (i) meet the existing shortfall in office space and functional areas for operation needs of the HKO; (ii) provide space for developing HKO’s essential operation and services; and (iii) provide space for organizing public education and outreach activities relating the HKO’s work.

The Project plans to construct an Annex Block on a piece of land located at the southern side of HK Headquarters which is a Declared Monument under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap.53) at 134A Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

The EIA Report (AEIAR-260/2024) was approved by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on 19 March 2024.
